TGC Blaine: July 27-31

The TGC staff is spending the week at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota. This weeks staff includes Coaches Des, Grant, Andrew, Tyler, and Jeff. One of our favorite destinations of the summer is Blaine. We have many returning TGC goalies along with a few newcomers, who will definitely enjoy the TGC experience. This week's schedule is a bit different as camp begins with dryland at 10:30am, followed by lunch/classroom/video analysis, and the on-ice portion running from 1:30-4:30pm. The nice part about having on-ice training at the end of the day is the fact that it allows the discussion of the days points of emphasis and drills to occur prior to strapping on the pads and making saves. TGC goalies know that we don't just put the pads on, there is a bit of thinking involved in goaltending.

TGC Pro Camp at Bloomington Ice Garden

This morning we kicked off our inaugural TGC Junior/Pro Camp in Bloomington, MN. With all of the goalies in attendance playing Junior or College hockey this coming season, we are able to work with our TGC goalies who continue to elevate their game and take it to the next level.

A few of the goalies at camp this week have been training with Coach Des and Coach Shari since the early years of TGC. We have watched these goalies go from Squirt, to Peewee, to Bantam, to High School. Now TGC is able to work with these goalies as they make the jump from High School, to Junior, to College Hockey. Who knows, maybe in the next few years, we will see a few make the jump from college to the professional ranks!

Our first session went very well. The goalies went through a great 3 hour training session, which put an emphasis on sound positioning, reading plays, rebound control, efficient recoveries, and playing the puck.

We can't wait to get back on the ice at 9am tomorrow! Everyone GOES FOR IT!
