WILD vs. FLAMES

The "TGC goes Wild" game between the Minnesota WILD and Calgary FLAMES is sold out! For those of you fortunate enough to be attending at the XCEL Energy Center, we hope that you enjoy watching two of the National Hockey Leagues best goalies GO FOR IT on Friday, April 3rd!

Miikka Kiprusoff, who is Coach Des' favorite goaltender, leads the NHL in wins with 43. Kipper, Has played in 70 games this season for 4,067 minutes of ice time, with a record of 43 wins, 20 losses, and 5 losses in OT. The 6'1 Finnish Superstar has stopped 1,806 of the 2,000 shots he has faced with a .903 save percentage and 2.86 goals against average to go along with 4 shutouts.

Niklas Backstrom, who is Coach Shari's favorite goaltender, is 2nd in the NHL with 7 shutouts. Backstrom has played in 66 games this season and has spent 3,785 minutes between the pipes for the Wild and has a record of 34 wins, 23 losses, and 7 OT losses. The 6'1 All-star, who also hails from Finland has stopped 1,757 of the 1,906 shots he has faced with a .922 save percentage and 2.36 goals against average, both SV % and GAA place the MN Wild netminder 5th among NHL goalies.

TGC Prodigy Alums to play in Minnesota "Great 8" High School All-Star Festival: April 3-5, 2009

Trent Caspar, a senior from Eagan High School, will compete in net for the Section 3A/AA team. Caspar played in 22 games for the Wildcats, logging 1121.45 minutes, and compiling a record of 14-7-1. With 546 saves and 51 goals against, Trent finished his senior season with a .915 save percentage and 2.32 goals against average, while recording 4 shutouts.



Paul Moberg, a senior from Forest Lake High School will compete in goal for the Section 7A/AA Team. Moberg, played in 20 games for the Rangers, compiling a record of 6-12-2 in 1008.49 minutes of action. With 618 saves and 55 goals against, Paul finished his senior season with a .918 save percentage and a 2.78 goals against average, while recording 1 shutout.



Tyler Olson, a senior from Totino-Grace High School, will play in goal for the Section 4A/AA squad. T.O. played in 15 games for the Eagles, compiling a record of 8-2-2 in 693.16 minutes of action. With 392 saves and 34 goals against, Tyler finished his senior campaign with a .920 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average, while recording 2 shutouts.



The 28th Annual Ted Brill Minnesota 'Great 8' High School All-Star Festival will be held at Wakota Arena in South St. Paul from April 3rd through 5th.

***TGC Shooter Andrew Bruggeman will play forward for Section 1A/AA in the tournament. Andrew Bruggy led the Mankato West Scarlets to a 14-8-3 record, with 44 goals and 18 assists for 62 points in just 25 games.
