DAY 2: SSM @ Nationals

Kyle Hayton, a freshman from Colorado, backstopped the Boys Tier I 14U team to a 4-3 shootout victory against the LA Selects. Kyle stopped 38 of 41 shots in 53 minutes of action in Plano, TX.

Peter Traber, a sophomore from Houston, TX got the nod in Plano, TX for the Boys 16U team against the Alaska All-Stars. Traber turned away 29 of 32 shots in 51 minutes of action as the Sabers fell to the All-Stars 4-1, with an empty net goal against.

Garrett Jensen backstopped the SSM Boys Prep Team to a 3-2 victory over Team Maryland in Boys Tier I 18U tournament action. Jens stopped 26 of 28 shots in 51 minutes of action. Jensen is now 2-0 in the tournament with a 0.898 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against in 102 minutes.

Erin Krichiver, a sophomore from Chicago, IL got her first start in the girls 16U tournament against a feisty Connecticut Polar Bear team. Krichiver allowed stopped 22 of 25 shots in 51 minutes of action in a tough 3-2 loss in Rochester, NY.

Becca Ruegsegger continued her solid play in net posting a 19 save shutout in a 4-0 win over the Mid-Fairfield, Connecticut Stars. Becca also had a solid game of playing the puck and picking up an assist on the game-winning goal, catching the Stars on a line change, turning an SSM 3-on-1 into an Amanda Kessel goal. Ruegsegger is now 2-0 with 2 shutouts, turning aside all 48 shots she's faced, to go along with 1 assist.
