Day 4: Quarterfinals

Girls Prep 19U defeated the Ohio Flames 7-2 in Quarterfinal action Saturday morning. Becca Ruegsegger made her third consecutive start, stopping 23 of 25 shots in 42 minutes of play. Lauren Joarnt, a junior from White Bear Lake, MN came in with 9 minutes to play in the third and made a couple of textbook stops on plays in tight and finished the game with 5 saves.

Boys Prep 18U lost 5-4 to the Dallas Stars Saturday afternoon in their Quarterfinal matchup in Pittsburgh, PA. Garrett Jensen stopped 19 of 24 shots in the game. On the tournament, Jens was 2-1 with 10 goals against in 153 minutes of action. He made 63 saves on 73 shots for a .863 save percentage and 3.33 goals against average.

SSM 16U Girls squeaked by with a come-from-behind 2-1 win in Quarterfinal action against Belle Tire in the Girls 16U Tournament. Erin Krichiver stopped 17 of the 18 shots she faced and surrendered one powerplay goal to pick up the win.

The Boys 16U team lost 7-6 in overtime to Compuware in Quarterfinal action at the Boys Tier I 16U Tournament. A.T. stopped 40 of 47 shots bringing his tournament totals to 83 saves on 92 shots with 9 goals against in 160 minutes (.902 save percentage, 2.89 goals against average) with a record of 2-1.

Bantam Tier I lost 3-2 to the Colorado Thunderbirds in Boys Tier I 14U Quarterfinal action. Kyle Hayton stopped 22 of the 25 shots he faced through 2 periods of play. For the tournament, Hayton finished the tournament with a record of 1-1 while holding a .915 save percentage and 2.32 goals against average. Oscar Dansk took over in the third and stopped all 5 shots he faced. Oscar finished the tournament with a record of 2-1 with a .886 save percentage and 2.09 goals against average.
