Shattuck-St. Mary's at National Championships

Five Shattuck-St. Mary's Hockey teams are participating in the USA Hockey National Championships.
The Bantam Tier I is participating in the 14U Tournament in Plano, TX. Oscar Dansk and Kyle Hayton backstop the SSM Bantam team. The Boys 16U team, featuring the goaltending tandem of "A.T." Terenzio and Peter Traber are playing in Chesterfield, MO in the Tier I 16U Boys Tournament. The Boys Prep squad is playing in Pittsburgh, PA in the Tier I 18U tournament with Garrett Jensen and Kurt Williams sharing netminding duties. The 16U Girls and Girls Prep are playing in the 16U and 19U tournaments in Rochester, NY. Erin Krichiver and Jorie Walters are in net for the 16U team, while Becca Ruegsegger and Lauren Joarnt anchor the 19U Girls Prep squad.

All five teams were victorious on day one of their respective tournaments.

Oscar Dansk, a freshman from Sweden stopped 13 of 15 shots in 48 minutes of action to come away with a 3-2 win against the Panthers Alliance in the first game of the Tier I 14U Boys Tournament in Plano, TX.

In Tier I 16U action in Chesterfield, MO, despite falling behind the TPH Thunder in the first period, the boys scored a PP goal in the third and A.T., a sophomore goaltender from New Canaan, CT shut the door stopping 26 of 27 shots, including 6 shots in OT, in 56 minutes and won 2-1 in a shootout on a goal by Jimmy Mullin, a junior forward from Blackwood, NJ.

Garrett Jensen, a senior from Salinas, CA stopped 18 of 21 shots in 51 minutes of action to get a 4-3 win over the Mid-Fairfield Blues for the Boys Prep Team in Pittsburgh, PA in the first game of the Tier I 18U Boys Tournament.

Jorie Walters, a freshman from Iowa, stopped 6 of 7 shots in 51 minutes of play in her debut at the Girls 16U tournament in Rochester, NY recording a 5-1 win over the Montgomery Blue Devils.

Becca Ruegsegger, a senior from Lakewood, CO recorded a 29 save shutout in 51 minutes of action in an 8-0 victory over the Washington Pride in the first game of the Girls 19U tournament in Rochester, NY.
